First, it is not a police box, but a phone booth :P But most importantly, it is a parody, which stems from another show the guy playing Inspector Spacetime starred in: Community. One of the shows characters is a huge geek and into TV-Shows and Films. After his favourite TV-Show is cancelled, so he needs a new one. One of his friends introduces him to "Inspector Spacetime, a British sci-fi show that airs since 1963". So in community they do a reference/homage to Doctor Who. The guy who plays the Inspector here also played it in the little snippets one could see on "Community". So it is more of a meta-thingy than an actual rip-off.

Actually, there's nothing to add....they even copies the police box that Doctor Who uses and just painted it red??? Really? Do i have to add anything else here?

To be honest, these people should be sued for copyright infringement. They're coping a show that has been around for more than 50 years and it's copied so closely, just on the cover, that any fan of the Doctor Who series could spot it a mile away. Call me whatever but i'm insulted that someone actually even came up with the idea to try something as cheezy as this.

At least NBC had the good sense to kick it to the curb. Geez, try being original.
