According to Curtis Armstrong, this film was the pilot for a proposed TV series featuring the character "Booger" Dawson.

Originally presented during the FOX television network's May 1994 "sweeps" for television network Nielsen ratings. The event called, "Fox-O-Rama" was presented in anaglyph 3-D and "Aroma-Vision", in which viewers were prompted to use "scratch 'n' sniff" cards from their "Fox-O-Rama" kits. The kits could have been picked up at participating 7-Eleven stores (selling locally for 35 cents).

Only Revenge of the Nerds film in which the character Gilbert does not appear.

Although he is not onscreen at the time, Booger can be heard at the bridal shower yelling, "Hey, Takashi! What happened to Gilbert?" This is a brief reference to Louis's best friend from the other films in the series.

Lewis Skolnick ( Robert Carradine ) Says at the end of the movie " It's gonna be a great year " Skolnick said the same line in Revenge Of The Nerds 1984.

Everything past part one was progressively worse and worse, and this was the bottom of the trash bin.

The acting was horrible, the plot was a re-hash of the previous 3 movies, and the writing was as smart as 3rd grade "What I Did Last Summer" report. The main reason for the making of the movie was as a broadcast token.

When the Fox Network originally aired this movie in the United States in 1994, it was broadcast with 3D scenes. A little logo would appear on-screen to tell you to put on your special 3-D glasses during certain scenes. The glasses were sold at convienence stores around the time, a marketing tie-in for the occasion. Some of the scenes looked cool in 3-D, like the food fight and the bachelor party, but it was just a novelty and was only worth seeing once, which is exactly how many times it was shown in the 3-D format.

When I die, St. Peter will probably frown on me for wasting the two hours of my life that I wasted to watch this crap, when I could have been doing something to help mankind instead.

Nerds, man. Fricking Nerds. This is one of the funniest movie series ever man! This one is just sorta like a great reunion movie. Its funny, and its more family oriented. I think it would be a good movie to show to my kids, if I had them. The Third one, same thing. Now Booger is my favorite Nerd. To see he's getting some steady ass from a not so ugly Omega Moo is great. Its a nice thing to know that after all this time, Nerds can still make people laugh and give you a heart warming feeling that everyone out there can be loved. This movie isn't as bad as you are lead to believe. The second one was the worst one. This one is pretty good.

I bought the "atomic wedgie" edition of Revenge of the Nerds, it had all the sequels in it, so I watched Revenge of the Nerds 2 and 3 today before the fourth one, and I was actually surprised. Despite their bad rating, I really enjoyed them, sure they weren't as good as the first, but they had their laughs. So I was looking forward to Revenge of the Nerds IV: Nerds in Love, because I figured that if I liked the other sequels, I would like this one, but it turned out to be different. Despite the fact that there were a couple of laughs, for the most part this was just a recycled story that really didn't work or click as well as the other stories did.

Booger is finally settling down, that's right, the perverted nose picker is tying the knot. Now he's not just marrying some girl, but she comes from a very important and rich family where her father is involved in politics. But her father and brother in-law absolutely hate Booger on site and are anti-nerd. So naturally they want to ruin the wedding by getting some dirt on Booger. But his friends, including best man, Lewis, are determined to make sure that everything goes smoothly and give the father and brother in-law a new perspective on nerds in love.

Revenge of the Nerds IV: Nerds in Love isn't the worst movie on Earth, but it's just the worst movie in the Nerds series, so I really wouldn't recommend it. It just wasn't needed since the story was so bland and reused from the other films, if it was completely different, it might have worked, but it was just the same jokes. However I did laugh a couple times still, I can't help it, these guys do crack me up, so I'm going to be kind with my rating, at least I think it is with how much of a waste of a good story was on this sequel.

This movie gets a bad rap. It's actually better than the last 2 sequels. But as "Made for TV" sequels go, they could have just made some piece of sh**. And even though it's not "Gone with the Wind", it has it's moments. The best thing is the inclusion of the original cast. More so than any of the sequels yet. Hell you had, Betty, Stan,Oger, even U.N. Jefferson. The 3-D parts if you saw it when it aired on Fox, were pretty cool...but there is one thing that just pisses me off!!! I'm glad they brought back Gilbert at the end, but "Who the hell is this guy??".Everybody else took a little time out of their schedule to, at least make a cameo. Was Anthony Edwards "Too Busy", to stop by and see some old friends and do that big 2 minute scene. Kudo's to the ones who did. It made you remember what a great movie the original was and a little nerd reunion is not such a bad thing. And Mr. "I'm a big-shot E.R. guy" Edwards,...you too were a nerd. Deal with it!!!!!!

I won't waste a lot of time on this one except to say that this has got to be one of the worst sequels to a good movie I've ever seen, sitting through it was about as fun as having a tooth slowly drilled for 88 minutes. It is completely mindless, unimaginative and without even the slightest bit of humor, it is amazing how an otherwise talented cast can be totally nullified by amateurish writing. Even Curtis (aka "Booger") Armstrong can't save the day, he seems to aimlessly wander through it with a pleading look in his eyes, as if to beg "PLEASE Just give me one funny thing to do!" In fact most of the cast looks embarrassed to be there, and they should be, I just hope they were paid well and fed a decent lunch for their humiliation. 1 out of 10, a superb example of why TV is sometimes known as "The Idiot Box"

This film is a SMALL step downwards from the other "Nerds" flicks. However, it is still pretty funny. Booger is getting married! Of all the Nerds I expected to wed, Booger was last! So....the happy bride is the (MU) daughter of an up-and-coming politician. The father obviously can't let his daughter marry a NERD! There are attempts to torpedo the wedding and Nerd-ly attempts to keep it going. Nearly all the previous Nerds are back and are as good as ever! I love the entire Nerds series and this one was only slightly less good than the others! Rent this sucker today!

Revenge of the Nerds IV (1994) was the final straw in the "nerds" series. Now this movie is too bad for words. It's so bad that it makes part two a joy to behold. I don't know why they even bothered with a fourth film. I highly doubt the third movie was a "huge" ratings winner (remember, this is the FOX network). The gang is back (for the most part) and there's gonna be a wedding.

'nuff said!

Bad movie that doesn't warrant any further discussion. Except that I advise you not to watch it. Unless you love the entire series as a whole (I know that there are several people out there how do). Others need not apply.

Let's hope this will be the last film.

Just finished watching this film and I think it's going to be extremely hard to replace Curtis Armstrong as Booger when they remake the original.

It was a big improvement over Nerds III, and I think a lot better than Nerds in Paradise.

One of the downsides for me was seeing OGRE as a watered down version of his old self he even gets picked up by two guys and thrown onto the table during the food fight scene! It was obviously easy cash for Donald Gibb the actor who has since made a beer named after his character from these films, and hey good on him if they threw money at me just to cruise through a film with hardly anything to do but be there I'd take it too!

Booger married?Who wouldve thought it? Live on the Nerds, its really not as bad a movie as some previous reviewers think.Fans of the series will definitely appreciate it more than anyone else

"Revenge of the Nerds IV" is a good conclusion to the "Nerds" series. It ends with Booger (who would have imagined it), getting married to Jennie. Although Booger has enjoyed A LOT of women, there is no indication that they have slept together. Hints both ways. But Booger is prepared to change for love. Love does that.

I like the pairings, especially Lewis' nephew Harold, with Jennies' aunt. No question about what they do. It ends with Lewis' wife having a baby, and Booger and Jennie planning to adopt a child. As for the other pairings, who knows. We can dream up our own stories.

There is room for a sequel. If anyone knows about one planned, you can email me at

I just watched the fourth installment in the Nerds series and I must say that I wasn't disapointed. Many of the actors from previous films are brought back and definatly revive the film, I was shocked to see James Cromwell in this. Booger and the gang are back!!

After viewing all the films in the nerd series I'd have to say that Revenge Of The Nerds IV Nerds In Love is a lame yet decent conclusion to the popular franchise. It was nice to see some of the original cast from the 1st and 3rd movie return there was some funny moments and cute romance but it lacked the raunchy jokes and hilarious pranks that made the 1984 classic a success. This is a made for TV film so it had to be made appropriate for younger viewers.

In the final story of the nerd saga Dudley Booger Dawson (Armstrong) is about to marry his rich Omega Mu girlfriend Jeanie (Bohrer) on Valentine's Day however his father in law to be Aaron Humphrey isn't thrilled about a nerd joining the family as he thinks it could ruin his chances of getting into politics. When his friends Lewis, his wife Betty, Lamar, Takashi, Ogre, Stan Gable, Lewis's nephew Harold & his friends arrive their partying style drive the bride's more dignified guests away. Intent on stopping the wedding he enlists the help of his snobby son in law Chip (Davies) and a private investigator. In another plot Lewis & Betty are awaiting the arrival of their unborn son and Betty is near the end of her pregnancy as the big day approaches.

At the wedding shower Chip announces that Booger fathered a daughter out of wedlock with a young woman years ago from Sandusky Ohio, of course it's a lie to prevent the happy couple from going down the aisle. So the nerdy gang will have to fight once again to prove that even someone who's different deserves to be loved. The wedding day arrives, as the ceremony begins Betty goes into labour and Chip's deception is revealed when Heidi admits the truth that she's not his daughter and was drafted from an orphanage. Everyone including Jeanie's sister Gaylord (Tuck) throws him out for good, Aaron then apologizes to Booger and his friends for his behaviour and gives his blessings.

By the end of the film Booger & Jeanie are married and plan to adopt Heidi, Lewis & Betty have a healthy baby boy. The final scene shows the newlyweds sitting with their friends, and Lewis says "It's gonna be a great year" the same line he used in the first movie.

for fans who enjoy silly laughs watch Revenge Of The Nerds IV Nerds In Love

This movie was made for the super nerd fans. The story is not great but its not bad either. Its a fun movie to watch.

Booger is set to get married and the brides Father and Brother in Law want to stop the wedding in order to keep "Nerds" out of the family tree. Also Lewis and Betty are expecting there first child in this film. Most all of the original nerds return in this film as well as some of the new class nerds from the 3rd film.

For the hardcore "Nerd" movie fan this is a fun movie to sit back and watch the original nerds joke and have fun. If you are not a big fan then I doubt you will like this movie.

How is it possible to be proud of this film after finishing it? How is it possible to participate in this movie and still want to be respected as a writer, director or actor? How is even possible to finance it or broadcast it and, worst of all, watch it? I have no idea, but answering the last question, I only did it to see if it would get worse...

I didn't laugh once watching the nerd's revenge, I pay to see someone laughing at the lamest jokes I've ever seen. Bad actors, bad plot, bad sketches... The only good thing was the end!

My vote: somewhere under zero.

Revenge of the nerds part 4 is the greatest film I have ever seen. It is like looking into the face of god and having him say "You are my most wonderous creation.". The movie is so perfect it is beyond human comprehension and should be viewed as such (additionally pregnant women and viewers with heart conditions should not watch). For those who say Booger and the gang's antics are trivial, moronic, confounding and beyond the limits of good taste should move to Canada! I will end with something to think about, Revenge of the Nerds 5, dare I say?

The other reviewers are being too harsh on this film. It's a made-for-TV sequel, get over it. It has all original cast and they all have stayed true to the original characters from the original film. Since it's for television, they aren't able to show nude coeds or make lewd jokes that made the first film so appealing. But hey, you have to hand it, they did well with what they had to work with. It's obvious they had a low budget and the writers were most likely rushed to pump out a script.

This film is just as fun as its previous incarnations and we get to hang with the characters we've known for over a decade just one last time. It's quite possible this movie came out way too late and the whole Revenge Of The Nerds luster had worn off to a new generation based on Beavis And Butthead and Ren & Stimpy. This movie was obviously seen as a relic of the 80's, much the same was Bill And Ted's Bogus Journey was viewed.

It's a B-movie, made for TV, has it's funny moments and is reverent to the original block buster. So go out and get it on Ebay for $2 and if you don't like it, well you only lost a redbox rental money.

This movie is not as good as one and two but a real better than three. This had a couple of laughs. This was a movie that started of funny and then boring. The ending was predictable and pointless. I think the writers wanted to end it on a bad note. Because if they wanted to end it on a bad note they should have done that with three. So they really screwed up. Again being a fan of the nerd movies this not the best. So if you want to have a couple of laughs watch this. One more thing for the fans who liked the first there will be a remake. It want be that good so don't get your hope up. Again it was a good not to finish on and stuck to the writers.

This time the gang of nerds get together to help throw a wedding for Booger in what ranks as the best sequel although that isn't saying very much as this has all been watered down by television standards. Indeed I went in with such low expectations after the disastrous third entry that this one comes as a vast improvement. It feels very much like a television movie and on the basis of rating this against other television sequels such as Problem Child 3 and The Birds II, this is vastly superior to a short lived genre made in the mid-90's. Still the movie doesn't contain a lot of inspired humor, it's more surprising that we find ourselves actually getting involved with the characters because there are actually a few tender moments, which actually work. Of course the main problem lies in the fact that basically everybody in this movie are too old and it's basically lost all the zip that the original contained, but if you loved the first entry (As I did) this one will have it's appeal. Although my 2 star rating is out of sheer nostalgia.

Revenge of the Nerds IV (1994)

* (out of 4)

Booger (Curtis Armstrong) is about to be married but his future father-in-law doesn't like him because (shock) he's a nerd. Soon the other nerds from the first film are back and find themselves in yet another fight to be accepted as real people. I must admit that this here is a major step-up from the third film but that's really not saying much and in the end we're left with yet another cheap, made-for-TV flick that falls flat on its face in terms of badness. The lack of real laughs is the deadliest thing here as once again the producer's go through all the trouble of getting the original cast back together yet they give them absolutely nothing to work with. The screenplay goes for all of the obvious jokes but this time out they're just boring and unfunny. Seriously, how many times can we see the same nerds put into the same situation and having the same outcome? I almost drowned when I was a kid once and I remember struggling in the water but of course not being able to do anything since there was nothing to grab onto. No matter how hard I tried it was just a lost cause. That thought passed through my head while watching this film because you can tell that the entire cast are trying their hardest to make this thing work but they simply have nothing to work with and you can't help but see the entire film go under. Robert Carradine, Julia Montgomery, James Cromwell and Donald Gibb are just some of the returning crew. Ted McGinley also makes a few quick (and cheap) appearances here. The entire plot is quite predictable but there are a few minor laughs to be had here but in the end you still have to put this into the really bad, really stupid ideas bracket.

I don't know what to write about this piece of you-know-what . IMDb requires for every review to have at least 10 lines of text , so I have to figure out something. It's a shame that Hollywood will make sequels even if the franchise was dead with the end of 80's . Hell , they shouldn't make the franchise in first place . Similar to "Police academy" they should end it with second sequel. What I can write more ? I've seen this movie out of duty . If I have seen this movie ( or the third one) first , I would never touch the original . That tells you something about "quality" of this one. Thank god they stopped here . Imagine a line of sequels like in "Police academy " or "Saw". The horror , the horror … I give it 1/10 . Out demon , out !

Finally, the Nerds franchise is dead thank god.

So, what's the deal with this one? Okay, I'll just flat out admit what the film is about, Booger wants to get married, the whole gang comes back with a few exceptions, some prick wants to break up the couple, yadda, yadda, yadda, everyone lives happily ever after.

Yeah, sounds like a great film.

Everything about it is just so bad, it's actually just as bad as Batman & Robin, trust me, it's that bad.

Like the previous film, it tries to be family friendly which I despise by the way.

As usual, the nerds, and the other characters are annoying, the script is very bad, I can't say anymore. But I will ask you this, have you noticed that the franchise had run out of ideas? I'm surprised Fox never bothered to do Revenge of the Nerds V: Nerds in Space where the Nerds gang decide to go to Pluto or Jupiter, whatever.

Overall, thank god the Nerds are dead and they should stay dead.

Revenge Of The Nerds IV Nerds In Love isn't as popular or as hilarious as the first film but it manages to provide some laughs and a proper ending. I saw it on DVD 3 years ago when I bought Revenge Of The Nerds The Atomic Wedgie Collection, after viewing all four films I found this one to be a letdown compared to the first movie.

Of all the nerds to get married besides Lewis I was surprised that Booger was the next groom to be, over the years he's enjoyed many women but meeting the right girl changes everything. One of my complaints about the film is that the characters of Gilbert, Wormser & Pointdexter portrayed by Anthony Edwards, Andrew Cassese & Timothy Busfield were absent again.

The nerdy gang is back in this funny & final instalment of the series. Love is in the air as Booger Dawson (Armstrong) is about to marry his Omega Mu girlfriend Jeanie (Bohrer) on Valentine's Day. But when his friends Lewis (Carradine), his wife Betty (Montgomery), Lamar (Scott), Takashi(Tochi), Ogre (Gibb), Stan (McGinley) and the rest of the gang arrive their outrageous party style drive away the bride to be's dignified guests.

Even Aaron Humphrey (Bologna) Booger's father in law and republican nominee isn't thrilled about a nerd joining his family so he requires the help of his snobby son in law Chip (Davies) and a private detective to help stop the wedding. Meanwhile Lewis is awaiting the arrival of his first child and Betty is near the end of the last trimester as the big day approaches.

Trouble arises when during the bridal shower Chip informs everyone that Booger fathered a child 12 years ago when he was a teenager, he declares that this accusation has nothing to do with that but with the fact that he's a nerd. So it's up to his friends to save the day and set things straight once more, I loved the food fight scene ,seeing Ogre get thrown across the table and hitting the pies upon impact.

The wedding day arrives soon Chip's lie falls apart when the girl admits that he got her from an orphanage and that she's not really his daughter. Everyone including Jeanie's sister Gaylord (Tuck)throws Chip out, leaving him to swear his own revenge against the nerds, during the ceremony Betty goes into labour and gives birth to a healthy baby boy. Booger & Jeanie are married, they plan to start their family by adopting the orphan girl.

Revenge Of The Nerds IV Nerds In Love isn't a comedy classic but it manages to make people laugh.

This is the worst of the Nerds series and does not do justice to the quailty of the first. The film focuses around Boogers marriage to Janey, the daughter of a "new rich" businessman attempting to enter the politcal scene. The father and son-in-law are essentially the enemies of this film and take over where the jocks left off in earlier movies. This is the great failure of the film (among many) as we are left wanting that final battle between the jocks and Nerds.

Several of the actors who appeared in eariler "Nerds" perform admirably given the poor scripting and lack of direction.
