Once again, this episode is held back from the inclusion of unnecessary scenes where characters simply talk and the plot is not progressed, simply consolidated to make sure the audience knows exactly where everyone stands. This is most noticeable in scenes with Madani or Krista which are by far the least engaging for me.

Also I know Frank is supposed to seem unstoppable but there needs to be some more variety sometimes as we got one of the most underwhelming standoffs because of this. Hopefully the return of Josh Stewart will see the quality increase

A pleasantly surprising return to form, one that combines engaging drama with mild action sequences. Hopefully the remaining episodes with follow that line.

In "Flustercluck" we see both stories going on. Bill desperately looking for answers, Frank chasing him and Amy doing his part too (getting in trouble, of course).

I think this is more of a refill episode to the season, more of the same. However, there are some interesting moments that raises the tension. Average, a regular episode on this Punisher season... Disappointing I must say.

As the scrambled name will tell you, this was a wild episode.

A lot of violence, not much substance, but I don't think that is what many watch the show for.

Enjoyable though.

The entire episode is painful to watch.

The blood splatter from the CGI looks like a failing college student was left alone with those scenes.

The dialogue within season 2 is awful but this episode really takes the biscuit. Not sure how people could vote it 8.8/10 when this episode is impossible to watch without cringing.

Compared to the rest of the series this episode had some of the worst blood splatter effects I've ever seen. The first scene is just painful to watch, terrible cgi

Intercutting scenes of Russo's recently formed army of elite soldiers brutally eliminating a townhouse of drug dealers, with his intimacy with Krista, the opening is extremely effective.

The stakes are upped for Castle and his friends. With a five million dollar bounty on the heads of Frank and Amy, New York has suddenly become even more dangerous.

A gripping episode with many subplots left hanging. Even Pilgrim appears to be in a sticky situation.

Marvel's The Punisher

Lightfoot's almost R rated take of this beloved character of comic books, holds no bar on glorifying its protagonist to its peak with all possible tactics. The mean street themed anti-hero of ours may resemble a lot to its companion Murdock, but as far as morality and sanity clause is considered, Bernthal's character has been free from such strings far before it even hits the screen. He has got deep voice, he reminisces about his past, he ignites his anger through sorrow and he is the protector working from outside the law. And with all these stated pragmatic theories, the action that it thrives upon too communicates a lot to its viewers.

With well choreographed and lethally performed actions, the gore vision of the makers is justified thoroughly on the screen, personally I still prefer Goddard's typical Daredevil mano-y-mano fight compared to the jump-the-shark and often too-much-to-swallow action in here. Bernthal's genuine commitment to this role inherently enhances his portrayal where his emotionally driven monologues- something that we first glimpsed when he arrives in Daredevil- is one of his finest bits. As far as the storytelling is concerned, the writers adds enough characters to distract and distribute the storyline with gripping well constructed sequences to keep us tangled.

But, the real culprit is the screenplay and the conversation that comes off chalky or cheesy to breed out the sincerity of the emotions it goes through. Another signature of it, is how it weaves out brilliant eye popping culmination of characters on screen, but this is something that is usually seen in its initial stages, for the last act is often a mind numbing bloodbath. Addition to that, the supporting cast isn't convincing enough to push Bernthal for a better closure let alone support him.

Season 02

The respect earned by its first season by creating an eerie yet soothing bond between Bernthal and Ray Newman is shucked away with none whatsoever emotional string in this one. Plummeting down vigorously with its repetitive narration and questionable sequences, the lack of practicality in conversations results to be the stab at the back of the series.

Flustercluck

The reserved side track that was kept ages ago and was constructed with petty method finally comes down to reveal the anticipated cheesy drama, but what's worse is that where it was supposed to crave the silence, it blurts out amateurly.

Honestly, I don't know what's up with this season. It lacks the feeling of season 1. The dialogues are superficial, characters annoying, nobody knows why they are there. Just a big mess with lots of shooting and killing. Frank is man without purpose so he now goes around killing everyone getting in his way. This wasn't the Frank from the previous season. And some subplots are just underdeveloped and unexplained. Maybe it will be explained later but right now I am asking myself "What? What?"
