A documentary short film exploring the behind the scenes world of amateur mixed martial arts. Mixed martial arts, MMA, evolved from no rules, no holds barred fighting from Brazil and Japan. MMA combines striking disciplines, such as boxing, kickboxing and karate with grappling and submission techniques from wrestling, judo, and jiu-jitsu. This film explores the grueling training and brutal fights of contestants who place their lives on the line for no reward, except the love of the sport.

Originally, Johnny Buck was supposed to fight Josh Haynes for the middleweight title, and Adam DeHart was to fight Mark Inge for the light heavyweight belt. This was switched two weeks before the fight so that the experience levels matched better.
Johnny Buck usually walks around at 205 pounds. To make the 185 pound middleweight limit, he frequently cuts 20 pounds of water weight in the two days prior to the fight weigh ins, the day before the actual fight. By fight night he is back up to 205 pounds.
Adam DeHart had only been training MMA for two months prior to his first fight.
