The Petulant (2016) Online

A comedic parody of 'The Revenant', Hugh Jass embarks on a dangerous journey to achieve his heart's desire. But when disaster strikes, he will need the help of Hardly to get there.
Cast overview:
Sean Topps Sean Topps - Hugh Jass
Daniel Bacsik Daniel Bacsik - Hardly / Eddie Redmayne (as Stephen Hawking)
Yisrael Dubov Yisrael Dubov - Captain
Shelly Skandrani Shelly Skandrani - Subplot / Bear
Addi Gefen Addi Gefen - Dead Wife / Lumberjack

To mimic the style of The Revenant', all shots were lit using only natural light.

The ritual scene at the campfires was originally supposed to be set during the day without any campfires, but by the time it was ready to be shot, it had already become dark. This led to the decision to shoot a nighttime scene with multiple fires to give more of a "ritual' feel.

The helmet that Captain wears during the final scenes has no informative value. The director was going through his garage to find items that might be usable and thought that this helmet gives a comedic and petulant aspect to the Captain.

The man holding the Oscar in the final scene is Stephen Hawking (Daniel Bacsik) which was played by Eddie Redmayne in 'The Theory of Everything' who did, in fact, win the Oscar that year. The drag makeup that Jass wakes up wearing also alludes to Redmayne in that he played Lili in 'The Danish Girl' who also dresses in drag.

The Alpaca that is seen when Jass is looking through the binoculars was an impulse shot. When the crew saw the alpaca running by, Katz immediately had the camera point in that direction. He later decided to use it in the opening scene.

Daniel Bacsik played both Hardly and Hawking and had to remove his beard to play Hawking.

Subplot and Dead Wife both wear name-tags. Subplot's name-tag says 'Subplot', alluding to the fact that in the original film, the Chief's daughter did not seem to play in important function in the film, rather, it seemed to play only a subplot that nobody cared about. The same goes for Dead Wife, who is not explained at all during the film.

Due to extenuating circumstances, the original makeup artist was unable to be on set. Mendel Katz took upon himself to learn and apply the special effects makeup himself.

The campfire monologue, when Hardly (Daniel Bacsik) talks about his squirrel, was completely improvised.
