Lucas gets Sami to tell the bumbling detectives what she knows about E.J., but they have no better idea then asking her to seduce him to pass false information, which Lucas considers too risky. Max and Mimi spent the night cuddling up because of the cold but actually enjoy hugging. Despite finding a hatchet and sledgehammer, escaping still fails. they hear footsteps from a vagrant, who demands all their cash to let them out, but rather steals the half up front and leaves. Max finds a false wall and tries knocking it down. Patrick refuses to accept further excuses from Hope to put off their trip, threatening to revive his abuse complaint against Bo, still to no avail. Steve bought Clay Aikins tickets for him and Kayla but she prefers the time-honored Horton Christmas traditions.
