"Termini Station" is a touching story about a relationship of a mother-daughter. Of course, this is not the movie of the year but it's got a really good script and AWESOME actors and touching characters. The best thing about "Termini Station" is Follows and Dewhurst performances. I am a HUGE fan of Megan and honestly, it's the only reason I watched this film. And I really believe that Megan delivers an incredible performance. Colleen Dewhurst is also awesome in that. Anyway, this movie is funny, touching, sad, rough and very good! Megan and Colleen rule! ;)

Did you know that this movie was filmed in the Northern Ontario town of Kirkland Lake? I enjoyed picking out the various landmarks and trying to guess what part of the town they were in. I especially enjoyed it when they parked in front of my house. The movie had a good plot and I wish I could find it on video. The hospital scenes were cool. I think I was once in that very same room. The trailer park is on an old Mining property and less that 300 meters from the community college. The main character played by Megan Follows, worked in a restaurant in the main downtown core. They also shot scenes from just outside the town near where my sister used to live. All in all this was a pretty good movie.

I watched this once several years ago. It was interesting to see Dewhurst and Follows acting together in something other than the cherry blossomed "Anne of Green Gables". Dewhurst is holed up in her room throughout most of the film and is sometimes seen crawling around the floor looking for another full liquor bottle - she usually finds one. Follows acts too angry and sullen most of the time and lashes out too much at everything and everyone around her. Her dream of 'escaping-small- town-life' is a tiring cliché seen many times before in films that are set in rural areas.

A good film, but these two have fared better in "Anne Of Green Gables" instead of this depressing, modern day gritty drama. It was a good effort, but unremarkable.

I remember when this movie was being filmed in Kirkland Lake and my cousins on Tower Street calling me in Richmond Hill to tell me about it. It was great recognizing all of the familiar locations I grew to know from visiting relatives there during my childhood. A real heartfelt, raw, emotional drama with incredible performances from Colleen Dewhurst and Megan Follows.
