Robin Weigert practiced with a bullwhip for several days, anticipating that Jane would perform with her whip during the Amateur Night show. Ultimately, however, it was decided not to have Jane show off her bullwhip skills, and Weigert's practice was for nought.

Second time that a character played by Paula Malcomson has interacted with Wyatt and Morgan Earp. Malcomson played Allie Earp (Virgil Earp's wife) in Tombstone (1993).

The song that Al sings while he's alone in the Gem is a traditional British folk song called "The Unfortunate Rake." It tells the tale of a man who is dying of an infection contracted from a woman of ill repute. Given his line of work, it's not surprising that Al knows the words.

Just a quick review on this one. Seeing Al not knowing what to do, Hurst slowly taking over the camp, Cy slowly losing more and more power, Jane and Jonie connecting and Bullock being loyal to the newly arrived Earp boys is a delight and one of my favorite Episodes. The ending scene with Al singing alone in the Gem just make this one. I know its nearly coming to an end, and this makes me sad because i really liked that show seeing it the first time at 2014 and not being a western fan. As always i find Timothy Olifant extremely...stiff, shall we say, but even he could convince me this time. Seeing Al alias Ian Mcshane not knowing what to do kills me, but gives a new perspective on his character as well.
