Eric quarrels with Stephanie, telling her that she has never shown compassion in her life. Later, Katie pleads with Stephanie to spare her brother and not turn him into the police. Stephanie is forced to wonder if showing compassion for the man who shot her would show Eric that he is wrong about her. Meanwhile, Taylor and Nick say their goodbyes to each other. They are kind to each other in this bittersweet moment, but Nick is brought up short when Taylor announces that she is taking baby Jack home with her.
