You'll be surprised by the lack of focus this show puts in actual interiors. There are some truly amazing interiors in the show, but their beauty is lost on the horrible cinematography. The scenes cut so fast that you don't have time to let the interior actually sink in. This is a surprisingly strong annoyance throughout the whole show.

The interviews with the home owners tries to provide insight and depth, but fails a by being dull and leaves the viewer desperately fatigued by the amount of unanswered questions.

A show like this could have so much charm and potential, yet this one falls short. You're be better off searching for "amazing interiors" on Google Image search.

So many amazing interiors that are spoilt by terrible camera work, transitions and angles that detract from the core theme of the show. The filming is so shaky it feels like you're watching people's houses from the back a rodeo horse. It feels like you're too close to everything. Like you just want to step back all the time. Sort of like a child showing you a picture they've drawn, holding it up directly in front of your eyes. The "reveal" transitions are probably the worst that exists. Sort of like a ghost show from the 90s. It's exhausting to watch and leaves me feeling ill.

Just not interesting to watch as a tv show. Maybe it's just me but I wasn't amazed by any of the interiors. Might be interesting to interior designers or architects, but it's not for everyone.

There are some basic ideas in the show that are not bad. The episodes are short and they show many different locations. The show doesn't have a host and that's not a problem, since the house owners tell the whole story. The mix of three different locations each episode and the focus on one interior under construction is pleasant and relieve monotony.

Unfortunately the way of story telling is a bit too dramatic and superficial. As soon as you get the feeling to know the place, the owners and the idea of the interior the show moves on to the next site. Real interior design specialised knowledge is a rare commodity. All in all I got the feeling that the special characteristic of all objects are the owners obsessions. The interior is very often just a way to express their very unusual preferences. Living in a garage with your cars around, living in pink, living with cats, living within a skate park. Yes, those interiors are unusual and sometimes funny, but very often cheap and not well done as well, and especially not amazing all the time. Even more misleading is the german title, that says "genius interior design". The interiors have nothing to do with neither genius nor design.

I enjoyed the show about extraordinary homes way more. Those are created by real architects and the host explains the vision and the general idea of the houses concept. Since they focus also on the interior, I prefer that show to learn something about it.

To conclude, this show is ok, but not what I expected when I read the title. It's more entertainment than a real scientific documentary.
