"Simple Revenge" is a very good thriller. The plot is about Alex (Holly Perkins) who is about to get a promotion at her job until it's taken by Ann (Anne Hawthorne). Alex is very mad about this and decides to get revenge on her by seducing her husband (Andrew Garman). Ann finds this out and confronts her. The confrontation leads to an accidental death and now Alex has to cover up the body.

"Simple Revenge" has non-stop twists and turns. It's very unpredictable. The acting is top-notch for the genre and it's fast-paced.

If you're sick of the usual boring mysterythrillers out there, rent this. You won't be disappointed.

"Simple Revenge" is anything but simple. The plot twists come fast and furious, in this tale of set ups and murder. I found the acting to be good, and sharp editing kept the action moving at an acceptable pace. The intricate script has very little meaningless dialog, which maintains interest throughout. Not everything in the logic department will hold up to close scrutiny, and perhaps there are too many turns in the plot, but the movie is never dull. Some of the character swings from sympathetic to unsympathetic might be hard to swallow, but overall "Simple Revenge" has entertainment value, and even though the ending is controversial, this slick movie is worth seeking out. - MERK

I saw Simple Revenge for the first time tonight on Lifetime Movie Network--it is stylish, fun and a bit different than a lot of movies I have seen on that channel.

The story goes like this: Alex (Holly Perkins) is supposed to succeed a major company CEO when he retires, but he re-negs after having reservations about her work ethic, giving the job to a co-worker, Ann (Anne Hawthorne). After informing him he made the "wrong decision", Alex proceeds to get revenge, and she will do ANYTHING to get what she wants. I do not want to reveal anything so I will stop here.

The glamorous Perkins is awesome in this role, as she seductively chews up the scenery throughout the film, making being bad look so good. The pace is a little slow at times, but the performances make up for it. See this if you are in the mood for something different.

Following the attempted robbery of a fat cat businessman masterminded by corrupt businesswoman Alex(I assume),she gets demoted by her boss for fearing the company's reputation, she gets replaced by more legitimate but less talented businesswoman Ann,inevitably Alex retaliates by seducing Ann's husband, kills Ann in a cat-fight.Then there are 2 police detectives who are getting close to Alex's cover-up,guess what? She accuses them of sexual assault! The 2 cops lose their job and Alex gains 6 million dollars in the lawsuit! This is a great movie with a beautiful, sexy conniving "heroine"(she is victorious against the good guys),I was rooting for her all the way!People are wrong to jeer or condemn her.Viewers leave her alone!.P.S. she can get herself a custom made tank go to Iraq and kick those insurgents' butts from pillar to post! She can also kick Spiderman,Batman AND Superman's butts in the same day!)

While this story is heavy on twists, turns, surprises and plot, it is a bit weak on motivation.

The opening scene in the film is overly detailed considering how little these characters have to do with the main storyline. In fact, it made me feel as if I were watching two entirely separate films.

The main plot revolves around a woman named Alex, played by Holly Perkins. Alex is a career woman, on the bad side of 45, with dyed red hair that is way too thin for the style she is trying to wear.

Alex thought she was going to move into a top position at the firm, but at the last minute the old geezer, who apparently owns the company, has changed his mind. Instead, the top position goes to a woman named Ann.

Alex than wastes no time in seducing Ann's new hubby, Jim. Jim is so ugly I don't know how any woman could bring herself to marry him, or seduce him.

Just how Alex thinks seducing Ann's husband is going to aid her very much remains a mystery - it's part of the weak motive of the character - which we see throughout this movie.

The consequences of seducing one's boss's husband generally would be: getting yourself canned and without a good recommendation, and breaking up the boss's marriage - while the latter might give a vengeful person some satisfaction it wouldn't make up for the loss of one's well paying job, I wouldn't think.

This initial transgression, however, is just a warm-up for our gal, Alex. There's more, much more. There are several murders, more seductions, and even a hint at lesbianism.

Throughout, Alex remains cool as a cucumber and able to spin yarns to the police that would make many a criminal pea-green with envy, I'm sure.

The film would have been better, however, if they had simplified it a bit, as eventually it goes completely over the top with twists and turns.

4 Stars Out of 10.

This movie had a lot of suspense and I love suspense but the only thing that i hated was that the killer was not bought to justice.

Its the first time in a very long while i haven't seen a killer bought to justice. When we look at the world we are living in today with all the actual horrific crimes going on,the least we can do ease our minds is sit on our couches and watch a violent movie with a happy ending.

All i'm trying to say is that the suspense was good but ending was not nice at all

when you look at a movie you should not be feeling all this tension at the end of the movie. The ending of a movie must bring a peace of mind, and this movie was highly lacking those areas.

This movie ended as if there was a part 2 to it.

This may become my "signature" for what I see as bad movies, but I only give this one star because 0 isn't an option.

Evil is never good, and movies that portray evil that way really bother me. Our media today seems to, more and more, glorify bad. What's with that? I only continued watching this movie because I wanted to see the antagonist get what she deserved. What a let down. If there was one good thing in this movie, it was how it showed that evil this strong can corrupt even that which is good. Good people can make horrendously wrong choices when faced with injustice. Or temptation.

My whole family agreed that this movie was a major waste of time, with a ridiculous and completely unsatisfying ending. It was as if the creator of this story wanted to give it a "literary" twist at the end. You know, a tragic ending since that's "real life" and all. But it just didn't work. Didn't fit the type of movie, for this was definitely NOT a literary piece of work. Don't waste your time. Read a book. Any book. It would likely be better than this movie.
