The story of Enola Gay, mother to Paul Tibbet's who bombed Hiroshima. Enola is ripped out of her life of naivety when her heroic son begins receiving criticism for his actions. Opposition grows and grows and the ugly face of Nuclear War make's itself present, and through the years Enola begins whether she agrees with what was done. Not only that, but her name, also being the name of the bomber plane, is forever synonymous with the beginning of nuclear warfare.

The title is taken from the 1944 English translation of the Bhagavad Gita, famously quoted by Robert Oppenheimer in the 1965 TV documentary The Decision to Drop the Bomb, the whole sentence being, "Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds."
