The duo's name "Hello Brother" and this series are completely unrelated to the Indian films Hello Brother (1999) and Hello Brother (1994), although they do get a lot of messages online from fans of the films.
The sketch "Passion Project" focuses around a script about jazz musician Louis Armstrong. Completely unbeknownst to them at the time of writing and filming, Armstrong coincidentally recorded a song called "Hello Brother" in 1968.
