Donald Trump being relegated to a miniature desk while Stephen K. Bannon sits at the Resolute desk is a reference to a skit from 2001 where George W. Bush is relegated to a miniature desk while Dick Cheney sits at the Resolute desk.

Kristen Stewart slipped up and said "f***ing" during her monologue.

This episode marked the first appearance of Melissa McCarthy as White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer.

The Sean Spicer sketch had all the markings of an epic performance. Its concept was brilliant. Melissa McCarthy was a perfect selection and she is enormously talented. The message she spun with her improvisational actions were clear right from the moment that she started jerking at a container until she received a whole mouthful of gum. Only a limited number of performers possess the physical attributes to actually be able to continue speaking coherently with that much matter in her mouth. I have never seen anyone within this genre pull this off. Wow, that is talent! But when she shove her entire hand into her mouth to pry it out and plop it onto the podium. Clearly this was Melissa only way to water down Lorne Michaels 30 year sermons, a message which has continued from the initial seeds of Alan Aldas' throughout the show M.A.S.H. This isn't entertainment its programming, your being programmed!
