In his appearance on 'Wait Wait Dont Tell Me' in May 2014, Rob said that after the show was canceled, they decided to go all-out with a bizarre plot switch where his character is revealed to actually be a mass murderer and when his co-star confronts him in over dinner, he bludgeons him to death with his steak knife, finished his dinner, and then goes up to the roof and throws himself off, ending the series.
