This movie was terrible. It was clearly going to a funny, edgy, political commentary vibe but oh sweet summer child did it fail. I can sit through just about anything but I had to turn this off.

Talk about on the nose. This bland, uninteresting, and oppressive portrayal of student film-like writing does very little to hold the attention of an audience. More appropriately, it manages to mock women and the Me-Too Movement. Portraying women as a coven of satanic occultist does very little to empower their image in modern society, and in fact, is a regression into the archaic "hysteria" that they fought for centuries to overcome. The author of this unmotivated piece of garbage should be ashamed for developing such a mundane, and and uninspired failure.

A ridiculous script really kills this film. Pointless plot developments galore. Annoying camera work - don't use a drone when it isn't necessary. Stop moving the camera back and forth for no reason.

The location - a contemporary builder home is NOT "old money." The lead actor is, what, 44? We are supposed to believe that he grew up THERE? It looks to be a fairly recent construction. That is a tacky "new money" house, like the millions popping up everywhere.

Plot - why is the "father" even really mentioned? Oh, because he was a "bad" man? Wait, he fathered the totally unnecessary bait shop character. "Ags" - whatever. Her (semi?) blindness "represents" past generations of women? (Yes, I remember her speech.)

The "#metoo" symbolism is just hammered away - ridiculously. As if the sister DA is really gonna help with all of the charade. Perhaps I wasn't listening carefully enough. Beyond the Kara/Becca link - what's the deal with the other women? And DON'T tack on a meaningless last-second shot, that basically renders your major plot point moot, or confusing.

So, including subtle references to Gordon Ramsay makes this any more relevant? HE isn't the famous chef accused of abusing his female workers. ("SVU" dealt with THAT chef in one of their "ripped from the headlines" episodes.)

Also, the constant reference to the cutting of male genitalia is not "feminist" in nature. I know, it's a potential reference to the violence directed at women in older horror films. But, in this case, it kind of messes with the intent.

If this is any indication of what the other episodes of the "Into the Dark" film series is like, I won't be wasting my time.

Makes the #MeToo movement look like crazy BS. It makes me sad that this movie was made because it really discredits those women that had real problems and came forward in a mature respectful way. This makes women look crazy and makes a joke out of everything #MeToo

Wow, not sure how someone approved this junk. It's almost the worst thing ever. The third episode Pooka is even worse that this. Don't waste your time. The other episodes are worth a watch though.

Watched this 3/1/19 and boy was I bored. I found myself forwarding it as much as possible. Scares? Um, no. Girls angry and holding grudges, yes. The guys a life long pig and because he was cold to a woman, she commited suicide. Now it's his fault and we must ruin him. Puhleeeez. First one I've watched of the series because I just got Hulu and damn, it was lame. My wife fell asleep about 45 minutes into it. I just let her sleep because she wasn't missing anything.

I feel like they passed up a great opportunity to make a St. Patrick's Day or Mardi Gras episode. Instead, we get a poor, semi-version of 'New Year, New You', but no where near as good. Not scary, no characters to really root for, kind of boring.

Yawn. What favor did these people owe to participate in this waste of time. And James Roday... maybe you have a dark side but you are way better at the lighter stuff. Stay in your lane bro.

I've been enjoying the series so far but this one just didn't seem to work for new. And I still can't work out what the holiday was meant to be?

I had to get on my phone and verify my email address. I can not understate how badly this Hulu original was written, directed, acted, shot, cast, and scored. I just had to tell someone. I mean this thing, for me, damaged the whole idea of watching anything else Hulu makes. I wish I could give it zero stars. I wish it would give me stars. It's like a bad #metoo revenge movie script that was made by 8th graders.

This was bad ... I mean in every way - casting, plot, writing, consistency, acting, message ... If this is the compromises you make to keep your show ... Men-hating theme is blooming and becomes chewing gum for everyone, everyday. Metoo movement is great and I support that but it went too far as all kind of opportunists got involved. You just cannot interfere in such a way in a creator's work. They feel pressured to cast actors they don't want to cast just because of diversity, they must somehow include themes they do not want like LGBT, but forced to, now the men hating theme. How to include all that and still manage to stick to your original view about the final product you create? Compromises got bigger and bigger for authors and producers an I see more and more shows and movies just destroyed by forced casting and themes you must stitch somehow into the original plot. Episodes like this Treehouse must be flagged somehow so people know in advance what is it about and have the choice not to watch it. I thought I would just watch a great mid-season finale of one of the good shows right now and all I got wass this ... thing.

Could this have been anymore obvious on pushing the whole hypocritical Hollywood me too movement. My god it was horrible. Terrible writing in a poor attempt to push left wing agenda. The main character was guilty of being a womanizer so they torture him and make him think they are witches. A good guy? No. But only guilty of having consensual sex with a lot of women. This is probably the worst of the series so far although Pooka gives it a run for its money. The terrible line towards the end when the Hispanic "witch" says "draining the swamp one bad hombre at a time" was poor dig at our president. Overall this movie sucked and is the kind of garbage young New York congresswomen would promote. Don't waste your time. The overall score of this episode speaks for itself!

Funny how almost all of the negative reviews are clearly written by men- specifically men who are offended by the #metoo movement. They can't stand the idea of a man actually being held accountable for his sins. Then there's the review about the "left wing agenda" of this movie and how they take a dig at our dear sweet president who has never spoken negatively of anyone....(eye roll) Waaaaawaaaaa. Give me a break! There are some amazing actors in this movie and it is intended to be humorous and "scary" - but we're not talking Stephen King here so don't expect that calibur. This is a Hulu series with an extremely low budget and very short production time. If you're not a Republican snowflake or a male cheuvanist who can't possibly wrap their head around the idea that sometimes (often) women ARE assulted and treated poorly by men and you go into this with an open mind, you will enjoy it.

Just in case anyone was wondering what holiday this was (I had a hard time figuring it out too) the director recently confirmed in an interview it was about international women's day (which happens to also be today, March 8th). Knowing that makes the message of the movie understandable.

***Spoilers below*** I enjoyed it but found there were a lot of issues with the explanations on how and why things happened. He was drugged with some flower that causes paralysis and hallucinations. Ok, but that doesn't explain why the weird housekeeper looked in the mirror and stuck out her lizard tongue while alone. If he wasn't around to see that, and these ladies aren't actually witches just pretending, why does she do that and why does she have a deformed tongue. It added nothing to the movie except maybe the director thought it would look cool? Also, when he comes home and finds a painting his father supposedly did of the scene of his ex-girlfriend's suicide why isn't he more freaked out? Clearly he didn't like it and he knew what it was referring to since he called it morbid. Why didn't he take it down? Or question how his father knew the exact circumstances of her suicide? I also agree with the people who say it was hard to root for the main character. He was such a dick that you kinda wanted him to die. But on the same hand, I didn't particularly care for any of the "witches" either. So who do we root for? All in all it was fun to watch as long as you take everything with a grain of salt.

This movie was pretty good. Slow in some places but still damn good. FYI the man literally admits he raped her and guys are still screaming #metoo agenda. XD If you're on the side of a man who literally admitted good god are you pathetic. I like the route they took. Scaring him and showing him the fear women feel was nice. He turned around in the end and maybe that's what's needed in the world to correct those that can't keep their hands to themselves. Good movie.

This movie is laughably terrible. I'm okay with using media platforms to raise awareness about important issues but this is no more than a, "Look how awful privileged white males are!" I watched the whole thing because I didn't feel right reviewing something half seen. With that said, please give me that hour and a half back. Hulu...you're better than this!

Probably one of the worst things I have ever seen. It's like watching someone trying to preach to you and push the propaganda meter to the max at the same time. I can sum it up with two words.....Hot Mess.

Granted, it isn't the BEST episode of Into The Dark, but it wasn't as bad as all the 1-star ratings are making it out to be. Has some genuine tension and some parts were kind of creepy...and I didn't see the "twist" at the end coming (all though it was a little TOO perfect). The cast was spot on (although the younger girls can get slightly annoying) & it had a faster pace then the Thanksgiving episode "Flesh & Blood"..although this one didn't have a "holiday" theme, which is a shame. Overall, a decent entry to a series I'm really enjoying!

Really effn cool imagery, & interesting twists represented by an awesome sisterhood. Into the dark is not afraid to take on social issues in a new & unique way. I don't know why everyone is bashing it.

It's a little longer than I would have liked and dragged on a bit in the beginning, but it was an overall good movie. There's some foreshadowing with the goat and buck and the slight plot twist at the end was cool so all in all it's a good add on to the series so far.

Being a me too survivor, the ending of this movie had me in tears.

This is not a "horror" movie. If you want that, watch one of the other into the darks. It starts slow and then gets darker and creepier (the creepiest person being the old woman). The twist at the end isn't clever per say, as movies go, but in a realistic sense? Totally. Imagine scaring your rapist into believing in witches.

And at the end of the day, I'd rather have every toxic man and assaulter/rapist change than be killed or hurt.

Film struggled to find its center to start and was really all over the place. By the time you figure out what is going on, it's over. A good message tries to save this movie, but it still is a forgettable blip in the series.

I like how the good reviews are of men hating individuals. The movie is SLOW, period. It started off interesting, and then you could tell within 10 minutes what the agenda of this movie was. Unoriginal and just terribly slow to get started. If you've seen any of the metoo movement, or seen a movie where its justifiable to torture a person because of females point of view, you've seen this movie.

This is from A female perspective btw, and females can be extremely bitter when we think we are wronged.
