This movie is inspired by the television advertisement of Jolibee, a fastfood-chain in the Philippines, which carried the jingle, "I Love You, Sabado" (literally meaning, I Love You, Saturday). The ads reflect that children are awaiting for the weekend - particularly Saturday - since their parents are bringing them to the burger store.

I didn't know what to expect from I Love You Sabado!, But I wasn't expecting much. Phillipine cinema has a history of bad, corny comedies.I was shocked, no astonished at how good it was. This is probably Janno Gibbs best performance, he is very good in it. I have to tip my hat to the director, he has a great pace of character scenes, and good scene construction. Sure, it's jokes are out dated, and some action scenes are pretty lame, but in my opinion it is the one funniest-movies in Phillipine cinema. It comes so full of heart and honesty, you can't hate but love it. Another interesting thing, Rufa Mae Quinto makes one of her early appearances here.
