Crossing is a short film about Scotty, a young man who deftly jumps in front of moving cars, ostensibly to get money from the shocked and apologetic drivers. Not something most people would consider doing as a hobby and a way of life, and one thing you might expect from this film is that there is no way for the audience to find a character like this sympathetic or engaging.

But what the writer/director manages to pull off in this film is nothing short of amazing. Over the twelve minute film, we throughly learn the ins and outs of Scotty's character, through graceful stream-of-conscious voice over, and a floating, visually somnambulant style that perfectly places the audience in this lost character's shoes. It's all very reminiscent of Wong Kar-Wai.

This really is a great short film. The visuals are perfect for the story. The performances are very convincing and, perhaps this is a guilty pleasure, the shots of the cars hitting Scotty are shots of a real live person being hit by a car. So see this film if you or someone you love is interested in becoming a stunt man.

I know, it is only a word. But in this case it defines entire film. Not a great aspect, not a beautiful story of amazing performance but each scene . And that makes difficult to give an explanation about it. Because all could be reduced at a young man and a serie of car accidents. But, obvious, it is more. A poetic story about sense, choice and a strange perspective about life. And this is just its beginning. So, see it !

I mean it when I say this is one of the best short films I've ever seen. I guess having a wholly original script, beautiful visuals, dead-#@$%-on casting and evidence of real directorial style doesn't mean what it used to. The (assumed) stunt Cy Carter ricocheting off the windshield is one of the most memorable images I've ever seen in any film. Show me a better short and I'll eat my hat.

I'm giving this film the highest rating imaginable. Does Jeremy Passmore have an enemies list? It's some kind of conspiracy.

Really excellent cast with some stellar cinematography. Cy Carter's really something and does justice to such a rarely original script. The direction ties it all together magnificently. Only one complaint - too short - where's the feature?
