The main camera used (Camera #1) was a Blackmagic Design URSA 4K. Because of its girth and overall weight, the crew nicknamed her "Bertha". During some handheld shots, the camera operator was always accompanied by a spotter to help support and balance Bertha.

Breck Gallini, who appears in the final scene as the character Professor David, is the younger brother of lead actor Dustin Doan.

The film was shot almost entirely in Dallas, TX (Oak Cliff) with the exception of a few scenes which were shot in neighboring Ft Worth, TX. The production team decided to capture these thrilling shots in Ft Worth at the old incinerator building, which had long been abadoned. The graffiti covered walls added a heavily artistic, street element as the backdrop for these dramatic scenes.

Dustin Doan (Russell Barnes) drove two vehicles in the film. The first was a 1996 Chevy Impala which was owned by the producers cousin. The 2nd car he drove was a 2014 Infiniti G37 Sedan which was owned by the producer, Dennis Dotson.

The woman and girl in the photo album in which Dustin Doan (Russell Barnes) is flipping through in his bedroom, are actually pictures of his real life wife and oldest daughter.

This is the second feature film in which Dustin Doan and Ron Clemons appear in together. The other is the 2015 film "Proud Souls".

The writer/producer/director Dennis Dotson spent 8 years serving as a Dallas Police Officer. (Dustin Doan portrays him in the film.)

Ron Clemons based his character off the real life Daemon Miller, but also expanded the characters mannerisms which were influenced from a drug dealing family member whom he grew up with.

Actress Ali Stolar and actor Carl Bailey are the only actors in the film who were featured in the original concept trailer.

Actor Dustin Doan auditioned late for the concept trailer and was not chosen. The producer Dennis Dotson later called Dustin in to his studio to act in a short scene for a rap video. He was actually, unknowingly auditioning for the role again. He was offered the role the following day.

Rusty Fleming was in talks to be the director of the film.

Robert Duvall was rumored to be in talks to play the role of Sgt Dunn.

The screenplay is based off of true characters and true events.

The real life Daemon Miller owned a successful record label in Oak Cliff, Texas named Silverback Records.

Arthur Muhammed, as well as many of the crew members, had recently completed principle photography on the hit 2015 feature film Carter High, before beginning work behind the scenes on The Cliff (Both films were shot in Dallas, TX)

The films working title was "Paper Badge".

The written dialogue in the script was followed for every scene, however, director Dennis Dotson allowed the actors to improvise lines when it added to the depth of the characters in a scene.

Principal photography spanned 30 shooting days.

One of the fight scenes which was shot in the small, night club bathroom, was rehearsed in an MMA gym on roughly 5x the square footage. Fight choreographer Tracy Frost worked with the actors on set to modify most of the sequences in order to fit the fight in to the confined area.

Carl The Coach Bailey has worked in other productions with 10 actors of the principal cast of The Cliff over the past five years. In fact, The Coach submitted casting recommendations to Jouet Dotson for four of the roles that were used for casting in The Cliff.

Carl The Coach Bailey is an action actor that is known to be cast in film roles for law enforcement and positions of authority. Bailey has been cast in over thirty productions as a character in some form of law enforcement including Sgt. Dunn in The Cliff.

Fabian XIV typically plays a clean cut criminal, but the character of Jake Allen is a gruffy good guy. The porkchop sideburns and the mohawk in particular, were to show the character's against-the-grain-personality.

Conoshia Odum's dress she wore in the Agent Kinsler bar scene was one that she purchased just moments before shooting the scene at a Downtown Dallas boutique. She found out she would be needed for a scene while working at her Downtown Dallas accounting firm and didn't have time to go home to change clothes.

When Conoshia Odum's husband came to pick her up after a long night of shooting, he was asked to be an extra and is now shown in the club scene dancing in the crowd.

Cloyse Caruther's character Dre's final scene is abruptly edited to where it's unknown if his character is killed or arrested in the drug raid by police.

Various members of the crew have posted fake reviews on Amazon Prime's streaming portal for the film.

There are various references between the two police partners stating that the lead star acts like Batman and looks like actor Bruce Willis.

The various Uzi gun props used by the Cartel muscles are fake looking props.

Despite being based on true events, none of the events are cited nor does the film ever come off as realistic.

Features various shaky-cam and bizarre drone camera shots.

The main cartel operates with Black and Latino members. This would likely not happen in real life.

Infamous for the main cartel villain being a black man doing his best Tony Montana from Scarface (1983) impression. It's meant to be serious but comes off as unrealistic.

The film contains a sexy lawyer who doesn't act in an appropriate manner that any professional criminal lawyer would do.

Has an ambiguous ending for a supporting villain in the film.

Eduardo Gomez (who plays drug kingpin Cesar Sandoval) is actually Afro-Latino, fluent in Spanish, and used his real accent for the film.
