BEG, BORROW, STEAL follows the lives of Kat Walker, Drake Anderson and Austin McGee. After securing funding and quitting their jobs to work on their first feature they find themselves facing an instant hurdle when their funding falls through after their loan shark investor goes to jail. The trio goes to extraordinary (and sometimes illegal) means to get the money to shoot their film before their lead actress moves to L.A. and they end up on the street or worse.

Originally the series creators were all going to play their on screen alter egos. But, scheduling conflicts delayed production. So, the decision was made to replace Dallas with Gabe so Dallas could focus on the shows music and his new album. Then, Andrew had his graphic novel published and two days before shooting started he was replaced with Geoff , so that he could focus on producing and writing the show.
Simian Jackson is a fictional character in the BBS "universe". It's a character from a joke script that is said to have been "too extreme for the syfy network". The minisode "Super bigfoot vs. rape Gorilla" (#4) was about shooting a scene from the script. The character and script title came about from a joke between co-creators, Dallas Coyle, Shay Revolver & Andrew E. Harrison, when after watching a documentary on prison raids he was misquoted and the phrase went from "a prison raid gone wrong." to "a prison rape gone wrong." eventually this idea took on a life of its own and the super hero Simian Jackson was born.
