Oliver's team is divided how to handle a lost letter written by Melissa on what proved her hospital death bed to husband Michael Starkwell, a lawyer and aspiring politician, who left her after finding out his blood type can't be 'their' daughter Rebecca's father's. It claims she had been raped and scared into silence just before their wedding. Michael however has remarried happily and raised Melissa alone, she now helps run his political campaign. The alleged father is on death row for another rape, and the only possible kidney donor to save Melissa's life.
