The two women in the park are Abbi and Ilana's real mothers.
Mara Wilson portrays the waitress in this episode, which is clearly an homage to Mrs. Doubtfire. Mara Wilson was the child actress who played Natalie Hillard in Mrs. Doubtfire. As Wilson no longer acts, she made a special exception for Broad City.
Abbi's juggling between Iliana's family dinner and date with Trey is reminiscent of "Mrs. Doubtfire", right down to a choking patron's spitting up the lodged food.
