Not Quite Human II (1989) Online

This movie is one of the best children's movies around. It's got an innocent sense of humor that kids will love, and the plot is interesting for both parents and children. Jay Underwood as the teenage robot Chip Carson steals the show, and Alan Thicke is good as his scientist father, Jonas Carson. This installment is the best of the Not Quite Human trilogy, in my opinion. Don't miss it!

After seeing Not Quite Human I wondered about what adventures would lie ahead for Chip and his family my question was answered when Not Quite Human II came on to the screen. Most of the cast returned with some additions for an all new story, this movie was just as intelligent as the first and even funnier.

Since the events of the first film Chip (Underwood) is about to graduate from high school and wants to attend college once there he tries to socialize and understand the college life, one day he finds himself developing feelings for Roberta(Barbie) a young woman he saw during his first few days at school. It turns out that she too is an android, however the people who helped to create her want her back and now Chip will do anything it takes to protect the girl he has fallen in love with.

The scenes between Chip & Roberta were so sweet it was nice for him to meet someone who like him was learning to understand about humans and the world around them. One of my favourite scenes was when he was trying to save her before her power died out and professed his feelings . For fans of sci fi comedies I recommend this film to anyone who enjoys a good family oriented comedy.

I've only seen the first and this one. I just found out there was a third. While I had it on VHS, I must have taped over it (long time ago). Perhaps this is not a huge 100 million $ flick, but it's perfect for a Saturday or Sunday family time. So chip finds a girl android in this one. She is smarter than Chip and doesn't need to try all her life to know emotions are a human quality. In the end, Chip does his best to save her from running low on power and losing her memory. Chip himself is infected by a virus and alsmost dies too. I remember a funny part : his roommate has a wall covered with chix in bikinis. Chip takes out and put pictures of abstract art (human boy drawing with pencil). I think the boy represents himelf. His roommate doesn't know how to respond. Oh yea, and Dr Carson (I guess) has a woman to fall in love with (the Dr that worked on Chip). I wish I could get a copy of this. Ah, the good old days!

The sequel to this film is the 'Not Quite Human II'. In this film, Chip the android is off to university and he finds himself falling in love with Roberta, who happens to be another android female. Like in the first film, there is a kidnapping plot, and one of the only things that I remember about this film is Chip and Roberta running away to try to escape and running into even more problems. Like the first film, there are a lot of jokes and a lot of humour as well as some fast-paced action. I thought that it was a good story, but the original 'Not Quite Human' appealed to me more, probably because I was in High School myself when I saw both films.
