In the conclusion of the two-part episode, Jim Phelps has taken a position as a security officer at the underground bunker where Dr. Erich Rojak is working on a long-range missile that may change the balance of world power. Unbeknown to the IMF, however, Alexander Ventlos, a professional killer sent by another unfriendly government to kill Dr. Rojak, has already used his disguise talents to infiltrate the bunker. In the meantime, hoping to free Rojak's wife Anna, the IMF has managed to plant Cinnamon Carter in a holding cell near Anna, while Phelps uses a miniature flying saucer to get a drug-filled hypodermic to Dr. Rojak. But Ventlos' presence threatens to ruin the carefully-laid IMF plans.

As the IM Force is trying to make their escape, a close-up of the clock shows the manufacturer's name: Swihart Products, Elwood, Ind., U.S.A., a company that started after World War II and went out of business around 1970.
The frequently-used onscreen Griffith Park location, Bronson Canyon and Bronson Caves, features in the climax of this episode, in which huge, fiery explosions are set off in the center, rear opening, and in the canyon itself.
Lee Meriwether, in her roles as Anna Rojak and Cinnamon Carter wearing a mask of Anna Rojak, is dubbed throughout by the actress playing Cinnamon Carter, Barbara Bain, who gives Anna a distinctly different voice. The post-synching is especially effective when the masked Cinnamon briefly drops the vocal impersonation and whispers IMF instructions into Dr. Rojak's ear in her own voice, in close-up.
The signs in the laboratory of this unnamed foreign totalitarian country include words extremely close to English, such as "On and Offe", "Ground Levul" and "Danjer," as well as ordinary English words like "Fuel Mix" to which have been added umlauts. Since the actors use the vaguely "foreign" pronunciations such as "v" for "w" (Russian) and "v" for "f" (German) and never pronounce American words with extra syllables or with umlauts, it is difficult to guess which part of a presumable Europe this country could be adjacent to or assumed to be, and suggests an ignorance of (or lack of care for) fairly obvious linguistics on the part of the writer and producers.
