Phoebe is in hospital to give birth to the triplets slightly early. Monica barely covered up to Rachel that she was with Chandler who found them two hot male nurses to date. When Chandler panics and says he and Monica are only 'messing around' they agree to see other people but neither actually likes the pact. Phoebe dislikes her doctor because he openly adores Fonzie from Happy Days. To Rachel's horror Phoebe is considering 'keeping one' of the babies. Joey has a sudden attack of pain and is diagnosed with kidney stones, and squashes Ross during a very painful procedure. To Chandler's horror, the third baby is still named after him, even when it turns out the baby is a girl.

Lisa Kudrow's favorite episode.
Debra Jo Rupp, who recurred as Alice, was given time away from her new role as Kitty Forman on "That '70s Show" to appear in this episode.
During one scene's recording, writers were finding it tough to come up with an alternative word for 'vagina', which might upset the network when the show aired. The cast didn't take it very seriously and Matt LeBlanc dared Lisa Kudrow to say a very crude word instead. Kudrow explains that Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer and co. agreed to pay her $100/$200 each for the brave endeavor.
Final appearance of Debra Jo Rupp as Alice Knight.
In the hospital, after Phoebe asks Rachel if she spoke to her brother, the doctor chuckles and says "oh, Fonzie" and Rachel says "You know who I always liked? Mork". Mork was played by Robin Williams in two episodes on Happy Days. In season 3 Episode 24 "The One With The Ultimate Fighting Champion", in the beginning of the episode Robin Williams appears with Billy Crystal as a regular person named Tomas.
This is the 100th episode hence the episode name "The One Hundredth"
Phoebe's Doctor references Happy Days throughout this episode, this is not the first time Happy Days is mentioned in an episode, the gang is also playing a game of strip "Happy Days" at the beach house in S3 E25. Rachel also watches the final episode of Happy Days in S1 E1 in which Joanie and Chachi get married, she says tearfully "but Joanie loved Chachi, that's the difference", reasoning that this is why she didn't go through with her own wedding.
When Alice rushes out of the elevator you can see 2 people on the phone. On the 3rd shot the people and the phone are gone.
At the end of this episode, Rachel asks Phoebe if labor and birth really hurts as much as everyone says it does. She replies, "Yeah. You won't be able to take it." However, in season 8 Rachel has a 21 hour labor and her daughter was breech, therefore making Rachel's labor more intense.
This is the first episode to not have "The one with..." or "The one where..." in the title.
