A fair skinned boy, named "Asim," recently relocated to Los Angeles from Pakistan in the pursuit of happiness. His name is pronounced "Ah-Sim" but everyone mispronounces it as either "Aseem" or "Awesome." Asim doesn't have any friends or a girlfriend so for fun he enjoys watching romantic Bollywood films and longs to find the love of his life. He currently works at Fair House Bank where he becomes friends with the teller and banker, Mark and Sue. After a mishap at the Bank, Asim finds himself making new friends and doing things he's never done before. Will Asim find love and happiness in America, or will he simply end up working the night shift at 7-11?

The character of "Asim" was originally written in an American accent but was changed to a Pakistani accent two days before shooting.
Sarmarie Klein originally auditioned for the role of "Beautiful Girl" which later went to Sophia Kazolides. The producers liked Sarmarie's audition so much they created the role of "Erica" for her.
The character of "Sue" was originally written as an Indian girl but Kathleen Chen won over the producers and the role was rewritten for her.
